Own the Watch that Started the Quartz Revolution – Seiko Astron
When you think of watches and watchmaking, you probably think of Switzerland and its master timepiece craftsman. However, no history of watches or could be complete without Japan’s Seiko watches. Why? Because Seiko, whose first line of clocks, Seikosha, translated roughly as “House of Exquisite Workmanship,” has continued to be a company at the cutting edge of watchmaking technology.
In fact, Seiko has often been the first when it comes to innovations and new types of timepieces. That’s why Goldsmith Co. Jewelers proudly includes Seiko watches in our inventory. Only a few years before we opened our jewelry store in Provo, UT, Seiko introduced the Astron watch which was the world’s first quartz timepiece and it’s this line of watches that we feature as well as Seiko’s other luxury timepieces and chronographs.
Seiko Astron Watch Collections
Besides being the first quartz watch, the Seiko Astron watch is now also the world’s first solar watch and runs entirely on light, meaning it never needs a battery change!
- Executive Line: The Astron Executive Line of watches features a new sapphire crystal bezel, and a unique case and bracelet, plus Seiko polishes the cases by hand using its own Zaratsu technique.
- Limited Edition: Seiko’s Astron Limited Edition Collection features their 5th Anniversary Limited watch, their Novak Djokovic 2016 Limited Edition watch, and their 2016 Limited Edition watch. Each series has only a small number of watches available. You definitely don’t want to miss out on your chance to own one!
- 8X: The watches in the 8X series of Seiko Astron watches deliver the next level of innovation and design to this incredibly groundbreaking watch. The line includes watch series like the 8X Chronograph series, a smaller timepiece that still has all the benefits of a larger faced GPS solar watch. This collection also includes the 8X Worldtime, Dual Time, and Big-Date lines.
- GPS Solar: The Seiko Astron GPS Solar is the world’s first solar watch. The watch actually has a ring antenna under its dial ring which is how it automatically adjusts the time on your watch to whatever timezone you’re in. It even has an airplane mode setting so it won’t interfere with plane equipment while you’re traveling by air!
The watches from Seiko are truly astounding! So when you’re ready to take a look at them, come on by our showroom. We can’t wait to show them to you. Questions? Contact us today!
